Charlie is enjoying the sunshine in his backyard when I arrive home from work one June Friday afternoon.

He says: “Nannie, come into the yard with me. I want to show you my beautiful flowers!”

Now who could turn down an invitation like that!

Keep in mind that our yard hasn’t – as yet – had it’s first ‘spring haircut’.

He shows me a great mass of purple flowers (big people call them weeds... I don’t know its name), tons and tons of yellow flowers (dandilions).

"And," he says, "we even have some white ones and you can blow on them!" (Dandilions that have gone to seed.)

He then proceeds to share a white one with me.... so that I can blow on the flowers too.
